Out and about in April

April was less rainy than usual, and the flowers came early this year!  The cherry trees in Trenton (especially outside the Richard J. Hughes Justice Complex on Market Street) were gorgeous during the middle of the month.  At Bethany House, the back yard has been tilled in preparation for the community garden, and we are excited about beginning to plant in May.

On Thursday, April 12, the Reverend Patti Daley hosted our Vespers Service.

On Thursday, April 19, we had a “Sunday family dinner” thanks to Liz from The Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville (established in 1698!).  She brought a feast (including cowboy casserole, which was yummy) and shared with us what it was like growing up in Mercer County.  Liz is a retired teacher who volunteers with The Crisis Ministry and the Get SET after-school program at Westminster Presbyterian Church, so there was only one degree of separation between us!

On Tuesday, April 24, five pastors from Amy’s church (Pilgrim Church) came to visit Trenton and Bethany House.  We had lunch at DeLorenzo’s Pizza and spent some time catching up in our living room.
